Research Center for Economic and Social Statistics in Asia (ReCESSA)

Database construction for Asian economic and social research and its application to empirical and policy-oriented research
The purpose of the ReCESSA is twofold. First, we construct the original database to empirically investigate economic and social issues of Asian economies. Second, we build the center for Asian research to foster research network and collaboration with Japan and overseas universities/institutions.
To facilitate sustainable regional economic development, Asian economies need to pursue regional integration and economic partnership. Since economic development is closely related with social security, social security system and safety net need to be established for sustainable economic growth.
Our research aims at constructing the three databases.
(1) Real YNU-Global Input-Output (Real YNU-GIO) Table
(2) Industry-Specific Real Effective Exchange Rates
(3) East Asian Development Database
The above three database are original and unique in the world, and we make effort to update the database for the foundation of research in Asian economic and social issues. Moreover, we promote international research collaboration with Japan and overseas universities and institutions to facilitate research network among scholars of Asian studies.
